4月20日，联合国第九届中文日庆祝活动在纽约联合国总部举行。中国著名画家夏蕙瑛应邀举办画展，并进行相关主题演讲。

夏蕙瑛是当代中国卓有成就的艺术家，在中国文化艺术的继承和发展方面，具有突出贡献。她的绘画，充满继承民族传统的包容性，并在现代性的表现方面大胆创新，使作品既不失中国特色，又能与时代和世界相融。她的诗文，带着古典式的优雅，融入当下的风貌人情，同时以高超的书法艺术呈现，显示出她深厚的人文修养。

此次展览的作品均出自“人文幽香”艺术实践，夏蕙瑛所倡导的“人文幽香”是展示中国文化本质和特征的大主题，以谦逊包容的民族格调传递文化深意。此项目包含绘画、书法、文学、行为等一系列文化艺术形式，分主题呈现，以探求中国文化本质。

展览共分九个专题，依次为“山水”、“兄弟”、“青春”、“进退”、“命运”、“人格”、“传承”、“聚会”、“朝圣”。每个专题都是人类的共通话题，却有着独具中国传统美学的阐述。专题的展示以一幅绘画作品为核心，辅以用书法艺术呈现的原创诗作或对联。三种艺术相得益彰，显示出文化传承中的发展与新意。

4月19日，夏蕙瑛在联合国做了《中文与诗书画》的专题演讲，演讲在联合国官方网站上同步直播。夏蕙瑛对汉字起源、发展并逐渐与诗书画结合的历程做了深入浅出的阐述。还结合自己的参展作品，引用中国古代名画作为例，与在场观众分享，指出在中国艺术中，书画同源是密不可分的。任何艺术在继承基础上才有发展，正如她在题兰亭对联中所言，作为艺术的朝圣者和追梦者，“援活水清流，我笔无尘。”

On April 20, 2018, a celebration for the 9thUN Chinese Language Day was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Xia Huiying, Chinese renown painter was invited to hold her exhibition and deliver a lecture on related topic.
Xia Huiying who was invited to hold her exhibition this time is a distinguished Chinese contemporary artist. She has made outstanding contribution to the heritage of Chinese culture and art. She has inherited the Chinese paintingtradition and boldly created a modern expression method. Her works not only have Chinese characteristics but have also be influenced by the arts in the world. Her poetry expresses local customs and culture with classic elegance. It also shows her high culture level that she could present her poetry through her excellent calligraphy.
The works exhibited this time are all selected from Xia Huiying’s A Delicate Fragrance of Culture art practice. A Delicate Fragrance of Culture is a general theme that shows the nature and feature of Chinese culture. The project aims at handing over the meaning of culture in Chinese modest and inclusive way. It is presented by different themes and a series of culture and art forms including painting, calligraphy, literature, performance and calls on public participation to explore the nature of Chinese art.
The nine themes of the exhibition are Landscape, Brotherhood, Youth, Advance or Retreat, Fate, Character, Inheritance, Gathering and Pilgrimage. Each theme focuses on one painting works supplemented by an original painter’s handwritten poetry or couplet. The combination of three arts shows the development and creativity in culture heritage.
On April 19, Xia Huiying made a lectureChinese Language in Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting in the UN headquarters. She explained the origin and development of Chinese language and the process in which Chinese characters gradually combined with poetry, calligraphy and painting in simple language. She shared with audiences her painting works and Chinese ancient masterpieces as examples. She pointed out tht art should develop on heritage, no matter what form it is. As she wrote in her Orchid Pavilion couplet, a dream chaser and a pilgrim for art should find fresh and original art to makeworks extraordinarily refined.
